Position Limits

Position limits are set by either the CFTC or the exchanges to prevent speculators from holding certain amount net long or net short positions in a single commodity. This includes all trading accounts held by the speculator, whether they are spread among different brokerags or not. Depending on the commodity, the position levels vary.
